Naples Zoo is celebrating World Giraffe Day on Saturday, June 16. There will be education stations and a special giraffe "Meet the Keeper" talk at 1 pm at the giraffe exhibit! Activity details below:

Giraffe-Focused Scavenger Hunt for Zoo Membership:  Between 10 a.m. and 1 p.m. on World Giraffe Day, trained volunteers are hosting giraffe education stations throughout the Zoo. Guests will discover incredible giraffe stories, their adaptations and their role in the environment, while seeing bio-facts and other illustrative materials. One lucky winner will win their choice of a Family or Grandparent Naples Zoo Membership.

Letters to Rangers: Guests will have the opportunity to purchase giraffe cut-outs for a $1 donation to giraffe conservation. Guests can then write a thank you note to the rangers in Africa who protect giraffes and Giraffe Conservation Foundation will deliver it to them.

Why Giraffes?
These beloved creatures are one of the best recognized, but least researched large animals in Africa. Giraffe numbers have plummeted over 40% in the last 30 years. They are already extinct in seven African countries. Naples Zoo supports the Giraffe Conservation Foundation in their work with governments, universities, and non-governmental organizations to support giraffe research and conservation across the continent.
